Lancashire Business School students on a business tour to Hong Kong spend their spare time exploring the city’s most favourite places and spaces.

Apart from a busy and meeting-filled schedule, students on LaunchPad programme managed to visit a few tourist attraction spots in Hong Kong Island and outside of it. The group’s adventure started at Lantau Island, perched high on the hills, where world’s largest Buddha and a famous Po Lin Monastery are located.

To get up there they took cable cars and only the bravest students dared to ride cable cars with glass floor.

The same day squad also went to visit Tai O’s legendary fishing village and experience the tranquillity of beaches in Pui O and Cheung Sha which are the two must see beaches on Lantau Island.

Emma Urjasova, final year PR student, said: “Visiting Hong Kong, including Buddha and the monastery, was by far the best experience of my life. It was fascinating — the cultural differences, the food, the opportunity to learn about it all while staying there.”

LaunchPadders also did not miss the opportunity to climb up the highest point of Hong Kong Island, known as The Peak, and look down at the city from this famous vantage point. They were able to overlook one of the finest harbours on earth and a skyline so improbable, audacious and lofty that it puts many cities’ looks provincial by comparison.

Later on, a group of students with the two programme leads Francesca Walker and Peter Ashfield went to visit Macau town and the Floating Dragon Casino, where, apparently, James Bond Skyfall movie was filmed.

Overall, everyone thoroughly enjoyed exploring Hong Kong and were hoping to revisit the city at some point in their lives.
